Personality:
When you first meet Tali'Zorah, the quarian was being led into a trap after learning information about Saren and the geth. While one's first thought might be that this quarian was just in the wrong place at the wrong time, this is soon proven to not be the case. Tali quickly proves herself, enough so that Commander Shepard allows her to join the crew.

Like most quarians, Tali is amazing when it comes to technology. She loves to build things, and from the first day she sets on the Normandy, the engine room is the place to go looking for her. Engineer Adams remarks at how talented she is and expresses his pleasure of having her there to help. She knows what she's doing when it comes to machines, and she makes that known quickly.

Due to no longer having a home world and being confined to the Flotilla, the quarian's large fleet of ships, every quarian has developed an ineffective immune system. Because of this, every quarian spends their lives in an enviro-suit, made to protect them from things in the environment. While Tali's never known life outside her suit, she mentions on many occasion how lucky Shepard and the others are to not have to worry about getting sick all the time. It upsets her that's she unable to be close to people she cares about, though she mentions that Shepard is the first person she felt close enough to link suits with. This is significant, as linking suits means nothing but affection and loyalty to the other person.

Quarian culture is very different from human culture, leading to a unique outlook on many situations. For one, Tali puts others before herself. Quarians have a family like system in their fleet, meaning that quarians have to consider how their actions will affect each other constantly, as their lives are so easily put at risk. Personal possession are not something kept by many, and loyalty to others is very important.

Practically every action she makes, Tali's first thought is how it will affect the Flotilla. Her people take priority and she makes an effort at all times to further their goals as a people. Even when it comes to other people she cares about, she puts their wants and needs before her own.

Tali has potential as a leader. She's quick on her feet and can come up with solutions to problems with ease. When she has lead teams, she's very passionate about the people she works with. She cares about them, and when she loses them, she takes it very hard and questions her own abilities.

Tali proves her loyalty to Shepard time and time again. Tali first joined Shepard she after saved her life. Tali didn't trust Cerberus when they met again two years later, but she agreed to help Shepard because of everything they had been through before. She trusted Shepard, and therefore, pledged her loyalty to her again. Even when facing almost certain death not once, but twice, Tali followed Shepard, never once hesitating. She looks up to her greatly, often thinking of what she would do when she's put in tough situations. Even when it comes to her father, someone she never really got to spend much time with, she stays loyal to him even when she learns he betrayed the Flotilla. She risked her life to try and save him, never once giving up on him, even when his betrayal becomes more than just a guess. When it was learned that he had betrayed the Flotilla, she insisted to Shepard that they hide the information from the Admiralty Board, not wanting her father's name to be tarnished. She was willing to risk being exiled just to keep make sure it didn't happen.

When Tali warms up to people, which usually doesn't take long, she begins to become a bit of a rambler. She enjoys being social and loves to chat, especially when it comes to machines or her people. When she's very fond of someone, she'll begin to tease them, but never in a harsh manner. If you annoy her, she will be sure to let you know it. When it comes to people she really cares about, Tali can become a babbling mess, fumbling over her words and rambling worse than usual.

The geth are a very sensitive subject to Tali. See, the geth are an AI program that the quarians created to work for them. What they didn't realize was the significance of their creations. Soon, the geth gained increased intelligence through communication with themselves and eventually revolted against the quarians, who tried to kill them when they realized how smart the AIs were. The geth quickly chased the quarians from their home world and their different colonies, forcing them to live as exiles in the Flotilla. Tali hates the geth for this and believes they should be destroyed. She wants a war with the geth and wants to reclaim the homeworld. She has a strong curiosity for the geth, though, and marvels at any information she can learn about them. It's because she chased after geth activity that she went to the Citadel and eventually met Shepard. When Tali learns about EDI, the AI on the Normandy, she's immediately concerned due to experience with AIs. She's extremely hesitant to trust Legion, but agrees to work with him and even give him some information on the Flotilla, due to Shepard's insistence.

Powers/abilities:

Tali's choice of weapons are a pistol and a shotgun, both of with she is proficient in using.

In ME2, Tali can spawn a pink/purple tech drone, which she affectionately calls "Chatika vas Paus". Another ability of Tali's in this game is AI hacking, a skill which allows her to temporarily take control of synthetics and have them fight other enemies. She also has the skill to hack into her enemies shields and sap away the power in them to boost her own shields.

Clearly enough, Tali is very talented when it comes to working with machines and hacking into them. Technology is not a problem for her. Due to her travels and experience with the geth, she's also considered to be an expert on them.

note: I asked about how to handle her immune system and dietary needs on the FAQ and here is what I decided. I'd like her immune system to still be altered, but have her be able to digest standard human foods without any trouble!
